
29 Apr 2013 - United States: FTC issues guidance on upcoming implementation of children’s online privacy law
On 25 March, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) issued a 38-page guidance document of “Frequently Asked Questions” about the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) based on amended rules that go into effect on 1 July. The document was designed to help website operators, mobile application developers, plug-ins and advertising networks operating on child-directed websites and online services prepare for upcoming changes.
