Children's data protection and parental consent - A best practice analysis to inform the EU data protection reform

The report comes in light of the current review of EU legislation on data protection. As the European Commission’s proposal (January 2012) would require organisations to obtain parental consent for collecting and processing personal information for children under the age of 13 - without stipulating how this should be done - the research looks at the best means to obtain parental consent in a meaningful, time efficient and practical way.
